Il grandioso altare, dedicato alla vergine Annunziata e a San Giovanni (Jan) Berchmans, speculare a quello di San Luigi Gonzaga. venne realizzato nel 1749 dallo scalpellino Francesco Cerroti. La monumenale pala d'altare marmorea, raffigurante l'Annunciazione, è opera di Filippo Della Valle; più in alto, sul timpano, le statue in stucco della Carità e dell'Umiltà, eseguite sempre nel 1749 da Pietro Bracci.
Sotto la mensa, l'urna contenente le spoglie mortali di San Giovanni Berchmans, studente in filosofia del Collegio Romano, morto molto giovane (come San Luigi Gonzaga), nel 1621. Nella volta, la decorazione ad affresco, eseguita da Ludovico Mazzanti a metà del XVIII secolo, ripete nell'impianto la partizione proposta nel braccio destro del transetto da Andrea Pozzo: al centro è raffigurata l'Assunzione, ai lati la Presentazione al Tempio e la Natività.

Chapel of the Annunciation
The magnificent altar, dedicated to the Virgin Annunciate and St John (Jan) Berchmans, mirrors that of St. Louis Gonzaga. It was created in 1749 by the stonemason Francesco Cerroti. The monumental marble altarpiece, depicting the Annunciation, is the work of Filippo Della Valle; higher up, on the tympanum, are the stucco statues of Charity and Humility, also created in 1749 by Pietro Bracci.
Beneath the altar table is the urn containing the mortal remains of St John Berchmans, a philosophy student at the Roman College who died very young (like St Louis Gonzaga) in 1621. The fresco decoration on the vault, executed by Ludovico Mazzanti in the mid-18th century, repeats the layout proposed by Andrea Pozzo in the right arm of the transept: in the centre is the Assumption, flanked by the Presentation in the Temple and the Nativity.
